Let's talk about this for a smidge. I often find others asking me what I do or, what is my career. The thing that I observe is how they view the word career, as if it's automatically something that you get up and commute to everyday for a set amount of hours, until that dinner bell rings and then it's anything goes. You get to forget all about work and do whatever the hell makes you feel good until the sun goes down, or until the morning sun rises. The difference that many don't understand is that there are a group of people who don't take that word to be a stencil of what shape life will be or should be. From the time I wake to the time I sleep, is life, is work, is me taking notice of my passion. It's not some building I just go to and from everyday. (I can't stand office buildings by the way. Don't know how you people do it. Y'all should be given a medal for your courage in taking on the monotony.)
I know there are full-time workers out there who go through similar motions, and work comes home with them, and they can certainly relate. It's not about how many hours we put in at the end of the day. It's about getting things done, no matter what. We're the doers, the creators, the dreamers and takers. We're the ones your mother told you not to hang around because they're weird and crazy. Don't worry mothers, you were all absolutely correct. We are crazy. But that's what it's going to take. (sigh of satisfaction and a smug grin)
So here we go, it's morning here. Another day to wake up and grind.
